Supriya Harindrawar Photography

Supriya Harindrawar is an award-winning wildlife photographer, conservation advocate, filmmaker, and mentor from Chhapara, District Seoni, Madhya Pradesh, a region surrounded by some of India's remarkable wilderness landscapes. Growing up close to nature, my fascination with wildlife gradually evolved into a lifelong commitment to documenting and protecting the natural world.

My work goes beyond capturing beautiful images. Through photography, filmmaking, and visual storytelling, I seek to portray the beauty, resilience, and vulnerability of wildlife while bringing attention to the people and communities whose lives are deeply connected with forests. My aim is to create stories that encourage people to connect with nature and reflect on their own role in its conservation.

I began my wildlife photography journey in 2019, and receiving the prestigious Photographer of the Year Award from Explore Wild India Magazine became a humbling milestone in my journey. It reaffirmed my belief in the power of photography to create awareness and inspire meaningful conversations around conservation.

My academic background has further shaped the way I approach conservation. I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Tourism and Environmental Law from National Law University, Delhi, undertaken in collaboration with WWF-India and the Centre for Environmental Law (CEL). This intersection of law, tourism, photography, and conservation has given me a broader perspective on the challenges facing our natural world.

My work has also been recognised by FOX Story India, which featured my story in its August 2024 edition, "Influential Femmes 2024: Honouring Powerful Women Leaders". I consider this recognition a reflection of my continued effort to combine creativity, advocacy, and conservation.

Girls Who Click

I was selected as the Ambassador and sole representative from India for the Girls Who Click Ambassador Program 2025, a U.S.-based initiative dedicated to empowering young women in conservation photography and visual storytelling.

In 2026, I continue to serve as a Girls Who Click Ambassador, furthering my commitment to supporting women in photography, conservation, and the outdoors. Through mentorship, workshops, and shared experiences, I hope to help create a more inclusive space where women can confidently pursue careers and creative journeys in wildlife photography and conservation.

From Photography to Filmmaking

Over the years, my storytelling has naturally evolved from still photography into documentary filmmaking.

In 2026, I completed three conservation documentary films — The Last Keepers, Beyond The Safaris, and Pilibhit in Monsoon — as a Director. Each film explores different dimensions of the natural world and the human stories connected to it, with a focus on forest guards, local communities, and wildlife.

These films have allowed me to look beyond the frame and document the people who work, live, and coexist with wildlife every day. For me, filmmaking is another way of giving visibility to stories that often remain unheard.

Global Conservation & Leadership

Recently, I had the honour of representing India as an International Delegate at the Future Leaders Summit in Istanbul, Türkiye. The experience brought together diverse perspectives from around the world and strengthened my belief that conservation requires not only local action, but also global collaboration, dialogue, and storytelling.

Workshops & Mentorship

Alongside my photography and filmmaking, I conduct wildlife photography workshops and field experiences, helping aspiring photographers understand not only the technical aspects of photography but also how to observe, respect, and connect with the wilderness.

My workshops are designed to encourage photographers to look beyond simply getting a photograph — to understand animal behaviour, ecosystems, conservation challenges, and the responsibility that comes with photographing wildlife.

My mission is to use the camera as a bridge between people and the natural world — to inspire curiosity, empathy, and responsibility. I also hope to encourage more women to enter and thrive in wildlife photography and conservation, challenging stereotypes while building a supportive and inclusive community around their voices and stories.

Every species, every habitat, every forest guardian, and every community living alongside wildlife has a story worth telling.
